Metro Layers

Metro Layers examines how people occupy the Washington, D.C. Metro through overlapping layers of activity and attention. Across the system, especially within metro cars, separate scenes unfold within the same frame as individuals wait, watch, move, or remain absorbed in their own activities. Poles, seats, windows, doors, and aisles organize these relationships, bringing distinct gestures and directions of attention into temporary alignment.
