About

I am a full-time engineer and part-time photographer based in the Washington, DC area. I currently focus primarily on black and white street photography, consistent with the tradition of street photography from the second half of the 20th century.

My practice centers on the unscripted dynamics of public space. I photograph cities as living ecosystems of movement, absorption, and fleeting connection. Rather than chase spectacle, I focus on gestures—how people stand, wait, lean, accelerate, hesitate. These small but revealing details expose the psychological undercurrents of daily life and the subtle ways individuals influence the texture of the places they pass through.

Formally, I work with spatial tension, layered compositions, and a tonal palette that emphasizes clarity over drama. I’m interested in how architectural structures, light, and human behavior converge to create unrepeatable arrangements. My goal is not to tell stories about individuals but to illuminate the micro-geographies of the street: the spaces between people, the rhythms of flow, and the silent negotiations that shape how we coexist.

I am married with full-grown children and live in Clifton, Virginia, USA.
